A thermal power plant in the city of Kryvyi Rih in eastern Ukraine was damaged after Russia’s missile attack overnight on Tuesday, the energy ministry said in a statement. 

Three mines with several dozen people in them were cut off from electricity after the missile attack, with all the miners brought to the surface by now.

The Russian strike damaged and disconnected the main power grids in the Dnipro region, with about 9,000 people left without electricity.

41 settlements were cut off from power supply In the Donetsk region and three in the Dnipro region due to intense shelling.

Damage to energy infrastructure was also reported in the Chernihiv, Sumy, Kherson, and Kharkiv regions. Some consumers in the Zaporizhzhia region have been left without electricity due to shelling as well.

In Kherson, which has been suffering from flooding after Russia blew up the Nova Kakhovka dam last week, about 15,000 consumers are still cut off from electricity.

110 transformer substations in the city and 35 in the Ukrainian-controlled part of the Kherson region are currently out of service due to the flooding.

In the Mykolaiv region, 42 transformer substations have been flooded, leaving 10 settlements completely cut off from electricity and another five partially cut off.

Repair work is still complicated due to the water level, but some consumers in the regions affected have already been connected to the power grid.

Overall, the power system is operating stably, Ukraine’s energy ministry assures.
