Ukraine's state NPP operator Energoatom completes early repair of all nuclear reactors
Energoatom has completed the planned repair of a nuclear power unit 11 days ahead of schedule, ensuring that nine units are ready for the fall-winter period, according to a press release from the company.
"All planned technical work on the power units was completed ahead of schedule, including the key stage of reloading the power units with fresh nuclear fuel," confirmed Energoatom's CEO Petro Kotin.
Ukraine will confidently navigate the most challenging period for the country and will be provided with power and heating, according to Kotin.
The repair campaign this year had strategic significance, as nuclear power plants remain the main source of uninterrupted power supply for the country, providing more than half of Ukraine's electricity production, Energoatom stated.
The completion of the repair campaign at the nuclear power plants is an important part of the nationwide preparation for the heating season.
On Wednesday, the Ministry of Energy criticized the UN's prediction of power outages lasting 18 hours, stating that the forecast lacks arguments.
