Polish farmers lift blockade of last checkpoint on Ukraine border

On the morning of April 29, Polish farmers unblocked the movement of freight transport at the "Rava-Ruska – Hrebenne" checkpoint, reported the press service of the State Customs Service.

Protesters left the strike site.

Passage of vehicles in both directions is carried out as usual.

At the same time, grain trucks will not be allowed to enter Poland, notes the State Border Guard Service. Transportation of grain across the territory of Poland is carried out exclusively in the mode of transit.

According to the Minister of Agriculture, Mykola Solskyi, all checkpoints on the border with Poland are currently unblocked.

"We express our gratitude to the Polish Ministry for constructive work on unblocking the border. As well as to the industry associations of both countries. The ongoing negotiations were not easy, but the main thing is that we have a result," the minister stated.

According to him, negotiations between ministries and associations will continue. The parties agreed to exchange data on the transit of agricultural products on a monthly basis in order to monitor the situation.

The next meeting of the ministers of agriculture of Ukraine and Poland is scheduled for May 7 where the terms of cooperation for the summer period will be discussed.

Polish farmers began to lift the blockade of checkpoints on the border with Ukraine since the end of March. Then "Medyka-Shehyni" and "Zosyn-Ustyluh" were unblocked.

Last week, the largest checkpoint on the "Dorohusk-Yahodyn" border crossing was unblocked.

Polish farmers started a nationwide protest on February 9. They began to obstruct traffic at checkpoints from Ukraine, spilling Ukrainian grain from trucks and wagons.

On April 19, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk called on protesters to end the blockade of the border with Ukraine.
