Ukrzaliznytsia resumes transit of agricultural products through Poland

Ukrzaliznytsia has resumed transportation of Ukrainian agricultural products for export by rail for transit through the territory of Poland, which was suspended on April 15, UZ confirmed in a comment to the Interfax-Ukraine news agency.

Shipments are permitted for land transit and for transit to the seaports of Gdańsk, Gdynia, Świnoujście and Szczecin.

The company received a notification about the cancellation of transportation restrictions from the Polish carrier PKP Cargo on April 21, the Ukrainian state rail transport company clarified after the Minister of Economic Development and Technologies of Poland Waldemar Buda issued the decree on the renewal of the transit of agricultural products.

UZ notes that the mirror restrictive conventions regarding the transit of a number of cargoes in the direction of Poland, introduced by the rail company on April 17 following the appeal of the Polish railway operators PKP Cargo and PKP LHS, will also soon be canceled.

At the same time, the issue of 3,000 carriages with Ukrainian agricultural products, which were loaded and accepted for transportation before the introduction of the convention ban by Polish carriers, remains unresolved.

On April 18, Ukraine managed to unblock the transit of agricultural products through Poland.

Today, Poland changed the transit conditions for Ukrainian grain after it accidentally discriminated against its own port.

Also today, Romania introduced sealing for the transit of Ukrainian agricultural products.
