IAPM and Optima School topped the ranking of private educational institutions in Ukraine with the highest income

In 2024, the Interregional Academy of Personnel Management (IAPM) and the Optima online school received the highest revenue among private universities and private schools in Ukraine, respectively, according to research conducted by YouControl.Market analysts.
In total, the 15 largest private universities earned about UAH 3.8 billion in 2024, of which IAPM accounted for more than 17% - UAH 653.2 million.
It is followed by the Ukrainian Catholic University in Lviv (UAH 494.8 million) and the Transcarpathian Hungarian Institute named after F. Rákóczi II in Berehove (UAH 454.7 million).
Overall, the geography of the ranking leaders is quite diverse: eight of the top 15 universities are from Kyiv, while the rest represent Lviv, Odesa, Dnipro, Rivne, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Berehove.
A significant number of private higher education institutions are included in the Register of Non-Profit Organizations. This means that their goal is not to accumulate wealth for their owners. They are exempt from paying income tax, but are obliged to use their income exclusively to finance their statutory activities.
The top ten most profitable private schools together earned UAH 1.8 billion in revenue in 2024, of which more than 22% came from the Optima online school. This institution is a key player in the market, significantly outperforming its closest competitor, Novopecherska School in Kyiv with UAH 237.5 million. The third place is taken by the KMDS school network with UAH 218.4 million .
The private school market is highly concentrated in the capital: eight out of the 10 most profitable institutions are located in Kyiv.
