Lviv will create a digital register of road signs

Lviv has been selected as one of the 15 European winning cities of the RAPTOR (Rapid Applications for Transport) program by EIT Urban Mobility, and will create a complete digital catalog of road signs and markings within six months. This was reported by Lviv City Council.
EIT Urban Mobility is an initiative of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology that accelerates the implementation of solutions for the transition to multi- and intermodal mobility.
The program brought together 15 cities from 12 European countries to address current challenges in the field of transport. Along with Lviv, the participants included Berlin, Helsinki, Bilbao, London, Edinburgh, Salzburg, Trento, Brussels, Luleå, and other European cities.
The city was selected from dozens of applicants and will now receive €60,000 to develop an innovative solution for urban mobility.
As part of RAPTOR 2026, Lviv will receive technological solutions from European companies and startups to create a complete digital catalog of road signs and markings.
"RAPTOR 2026 will allow us to automate these processes and significantly improve road infrastructure management. It will also enhance traffic safety by quickly detecting missing or damaged signs and prepare the city for smart traffic systems and autonomous transport," says Dmytro Petsii, Deputy Director of the Department of Urban Mobility and Street Infrastructure.
- On November 21, it became known that the Lviv City Council approved the involvement of international experts from planning for the development of a concept for the development of Northern Lviv – a large undeveloped area between Riasne, Levandivka, and Briukhovychi.
