Nova Poshta closes last operating post office in war-torn Kherson district

On Wednesday, May 14, Nova Poshta announced that it was forced to close its Branch No. 4 in the Korabel district of Kherson due to intensified Russian shelling.
The company had returned to the area just days after Kherson was liberated, becoming the only business and postal service operating there, where thousands of residents on the Island could receive medicines, humanitarian aid, and other vital supplies.

"For 29 months following the de-occupation of the city, despite constant enemy attacks and repeated power and water outages, our courageous colleagues ensured the operation of Branch No. 4. It functioned not only as a post office but also as a point of invincibility," the company stated.

Over the past three days, the Korabel branch has been subjected to daily attacks by Russian artillery and FPV drones. Each time, a specially equipped life capsule protected Nova Poshta employees.

"As a result, Nova Poshta is now forced to close this branch on the Island. However, we are working on opening a new post office in the Korabel district," the statement continued.
In other parts of Kherson, 16 other Nova Poshta locations remain operational, and a reinforced concrete shelter next to Branch No. 4 remains open to the public 24/7.
"We will reopen a branch for our customers in this symbolic neighborhood as soon as possible," the company assured.
- Earlier, on May 9, 2025, Nova Poshta also closed its last remaining branch in Kostiantynivka, Donetsk region, due to the ongoing security threat and continued Russian shelling.
