Russians export over 180,000 tons of Ukrainian grain via Mariupol port in 2024
Russia has exported more than 180,000 tons of Ukrainian grain through the port of temporarily occupied Mariupol this year, according to Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.
"Russia continues to use food as a tool of aggression. This year, the enemy has exported over 180,000 tons of stolen Ukrainian grain through the port of Mariupol alone," Shmyhal said.
He added that Russia keeps plundering temporarily occupied territories to "use the stolen funds to finance its war of aggression."
Shmyhal emphasized that Russian economic terror will be one of the focuses of the special tribunal on Russia's criminal aggression against Ukraine.
Meanwhile, Ukraine continues to boost its exports. From January to September 2024, Ukrainian exports reached nearly 100 million tons, a 36% increase compared to the previous year. In monetary terms, this amounts to $28.9 billion.
The agricultural sector remains the leading export contributor. Nearly 57 million tons of this year's harvest, including grain, oilseeds, and sugar beets, have already been collected.
