Ukraine has held the final sixth meeting in a series of trilateral consultations on the updated draft Labor Code, which has been under development for almost two years. About this reported Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture.

The consultation was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Economy, the International Labor Organization (ILO), the State Labor Service, the National Mediation and Conciliation Service, as well as representatives of employers, trade unions, MPs and labor law experts.

Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture Oleksiy Sobolev noted that the labor law reform will help develop the labor market, strengthen the economy and bring Ukraine closer to EU standards.

"This is a big step towards European integration," he emphasized.

The Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture will be headed by Deputy Minister Daria Marchak.

The final meeting discussed overtime regulation, working hours and rest periods, European practices for the Labor Inspectorate, and the compliance of the Code's provisions with international standards.

The draft document, which has been in the works for almost two years, will now be finalized and presented to the Verkhovna Rada.
