Ukrainian trailer maker Trans-Auto-D opens $8M plant in Volochysk

Trans-Auto-D (TAD), a Ukrainian manufacturer of specialized cargo trailers, has completed the construction of a new production facility in Volochysk, Khmelnytskyi region, according to Dmytro Kysylevskyi, Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Economic Development, speaking on Thursday.
The new facility covers 8,000 square meters and represents an investment of $8 million.
This project will enable Trans-Auto-D to launch a new product line — modular special-purpose trailers — which is expected to double the company’s production capacity and create 250 new jobs.
Trans-Auto-D specializes in transporting oversized cargo and manufacturing custom trailers. TAD trailers feature between two and 25 axles and can support loads of up to 300 tons. The company currently employs 650 people.
The majority owner and CEO of Trans-Auto-D is Vitaliy Melnyk.
- The company participates in the state cashback program, under which businesses that purchase its low-bed trailers can receive up to 15% of the cost as a reimbursement for supporting domestic producers.
