Ukraine and the United States complete all necessary formalities to launch the U.S.-Ukraine Reconstruction Fund.

This was reported by First Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Economy Yulia Svyrydenko .

The last step in the procedure was the delivery of a diplomatic note from the United States. It was handed over by Julie S. Davis, Chargé d'Affaires of the United States to Ukraine.

"Now we can officially consider that the Fund has been launched," Svyrydenko said .

According to her, the negotiating team fulfilled the task set by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The Fund's mechanism envisages joint management by Ukraine and the United States, as well as joint investment in Ukraine's recovery and development on the principles of equal partnership.

"The Fund's work is focused on a future in which the United States and Ukraine jointly invest in the restoration and development of our country," she added .

Earlier, Svyrydenko in an interview with The Times emphasized that an agreement with the United States on Ukrainian minerals "will make practical sense only after the first financial contribution from the American side." According to her, the implementation of the agreements will require investments of $5 to $10 billion, as new projects require geological research and feasibility studies, which is a complex and expensive process. The British publication also notes that Ukraine has significant reserves of raw materials, including 19 million tons of graphite, a third of all European lithium, and large deposits of rare earth metals .
