EVA modernized its distribution center for online orders in Brovary
In May, the EVA chain of stores completed a key stage of modernization of its e-commerce distribution center in Brovary, which began in August 2024 and was implemented without suspending the warehouse's operations. The company's press service reported this.
As a result of the upgrade, the company automated a number of processes: returning containers from the control area, packing to the final order selection area, and pre-control of orders.
In addition, new conveyor lines were installed in the distribution center, a buffer was created, and a priority management system for submitting submissions for control was set up.
The inspection and packaging area was also modernized, with new ergonomic desks, significant software upgrades, and improved lighting.
"Modernization has a comprehensive effect: it improves the working conditions of personnel, reduces physical strain due to process automation, and significantly increases the speed of order processing. Thanks to these changes, we will be able to quickly increase warehouse productivity to 20,000 orders per day," said Serhiy Polyakov, Deputy Director of the Logistics Department of the EVA and EVA.UA store chain.
He added that similar changes at the distribution center in Lviv led to an increase in employee productivity in the control and packaging department by 62.5%.
The volume of investments in the completed modernization stage amounted to about UAH 35.9 million including VAT. The total volume of investments planned for the modernization of the distribution center is about UAH 41.8 million including VAT.
Currently, the EVA logistics complex in Brovary includes a warehouse for servicing the retail network (with an area of about 22,000 square meters) and an e-commerce warehouse (with an area of about 21,000 square meters).
After refurbishing the facility, which the company purchased from Dragon Capital at the beginning of the year, EVA plans to transfer the current distribution center to the needs of the e-commerce sector.
