McDonald’s Opened 12 Restaurants in Ukraine Over the Year, Most of Them in Lviv

McDonald's opened 12 new restaurants in Ukraine in 2025, with most of the new locations launching in Lviv, according to the company’s press service cited by LIGA.net

"We are opening new restaurants in line with our development strategy to be closer to our customers and give Ukrainians more opportunities to enjoy their favorite dishes in convenient locations and formats," McDonald’s said in a statement.

This year, the company focused on opening restaurants in major cities, regional centers, Kyiv’s satellite cities, tourist destinations, shopping malls, and in partnership with gas stations.

McDonald’s launched its first new restaurants of 2025 in Ukraine’s Transcarpathian region, opening locations in Uzhhorod and Mukachevo. These became the only 24/7 McDonald’s restaurants currently operating in the country.

The chain also opened one restaurant each in Brovary, Lutsk, Hatne (Kyiv region), and Zhytomyr.

Three new McDonald’s restaurants opened in Lviv in 2025, including Ukraine’s first location built using a sustainable design concept. Two additional restaurants opened in Kyiv, one of them located on the grounds of the city zoo.

The twelfth and final restaurant of the year opened in Chernivtsi on Friday, December 26. It became the 120th McDonald’s restaurant operating in Ukraine. In total, the company has 135 locations nationwide, though some remain temporarily closed due to the war.

In 2025, McDonald’s opened four more restaurants than it did in 2024.

The new restaurant at 242A Ruska Street is the second McDonald’s in Chernivtsi and the wider region. It is located near the Bukovyna West bus station, at a busy transport hub in the Hraviton residential area.

The restaurant has a total area of 471 square meters, with 121 seats indoors and an additional 160 seats on a spacious terrace.

All major service channels are available: dine-in service operates from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., McDelivery runs from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., and the McDrive service is open from 5:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.

The restaurant is equipped with 10 self-service kiosks, allowing customers to place orders quickly and conveniently.

"Next year, McDonald’s will continue to consistently expand its network in Ukraine, investing in the Ukrainian economy," the company said.
