TikTok launches platform for promoting musicians – TikTok for Artists

TikTok has announced the official launch of TikTok for Artists, a new platform that will help musicians develop their careers and promote their work more effectively, reports TechCrunch.
The tool is designed to help artists and their teams better connect with fans, improve their promotional efforts, and inform content creation on TikTok.
The platform gives artists, their labels, and teams access to statistics on how an artist's music is spreading on TikTok – how many views, posts, and interactions with a particular song or video.
The platform also provides analytics about subscribers: age, gender, language, and more.
In addition, TikTok for Artists includes step-by-step instructions on how to use the service, as well as additional tools and resources to support musicians.
Additionally, TikTok announced the launch of a new Pre-Release tool that allows artists to promote upcoming album releases on TikTok.
With this feature, fans will be able to pre-save albums before release directly to their Spotify or Apple Music library – the release will automatically become available on release day.
The new platform has already launched in over 25 countries, including the US, Canada, Brazil, UK, France, Japan, Korea, Saudi Arabia and the UAE. TikTok promises to gradually expand access to other regions.
It is noted that this launch comes against the backdrop of parent company ByteDance's decision to discontinue the development of its own streaming service TikTok Music.
Instead, the company is focusing on TikTok as a platform for promoting music, rather than competing with Spotify or Apple Music.
