French company builds plant in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast
French company Saint-Gobain has opened its first dry building mix plant in Ukraine, reported the press service of Saint-Gobain Building Products Ukraine LLC.
Previously, Saint-Gobain only imported its products to Ukraine from its Polish factories. Now, the company is starting its own full-cycle production in Ukraine, from raw material extraction to the creation of finished building materials.
The new enterprise, which has created 50 jobs, will produce gypsum mixtures under the Rigips brand. The plant is located in the village of Khotymyr near a gypsum deposit. The production capacity is 60,000 tons per year. Saint-Gobain has invested over 11 million euros in the creation of the enterprise.
"The opening of the first Saint-Gobain plant in Ukraine is an important step for our company. Even in difficult times, we continue to move forward and invest in the future," commented Joanna Czynsz-Piechowiak, President of the Saint-Gobain Group in Poland and Ukraine.
The owner of LLC Saint-Gobain Building Products Ukraine is the French company Saint-Gobain Isover. According to the results of 2023, the company earned 536 million hryvnias ($13.1 million) in revenue and 38.6 million hryvnias ($938,718) in net profit, according to data from the analytical system Contr Agent.
The gypsum quarry in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast is operated by the subsidiary company Saint-Gobain – the private enterprise Trojanski Gipsy.
The German military company Rheinmetall has built its first plant in Ukraine, according to media reports on October 26.
