Due to the lack of irrigation in the southern regions and the related crop losses Ukraine will not receive 3 million tons of grain for export. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Economy Taras Vysotsky said in an interview with BusinessCensor.

"Currently, exports are at 40 million tons of grain. If not for the drought, it would have been 43 (million tons – Ed.). If exports are conditionally reduced by 8%, this will not affect exports globally," Vysotsky said.

In the marketing season 2024/2025, which ended on June 30, Ukraine exported 46.7 million tons of grains and oilseeds, which is significantly lower than the previous season (57.5 million tons). According to the Ukrainian Grain Association, this drop explained lower carryover stocks from the previous season and a slightly lower harvest.

According to preliminary estimates by the Ministry of Economy, the total harvest of grains and oilseeds in 2025 is expected to reach 76 million tons.

"Preliminary, we expect to harvest 56 million tons of grain. This includes 21.5 million tons of wheat, 5 million tons of barley, and 28.5 million tons of corn. As for oilseeds, we expect the following harvests: 3 million tons of rapeseed, about 5 million tons of soybeans, and about 12 million tons of sunflower," the Deputy Minister said.

Pros data According to the Ministry of Economy, as of August 29, Ukraine harvested more than 28.37 million tons of early grains and legumes, including almost 21.86 million tons of wheat and 5.16 million tons of barley.
