President of the United States Donald Trump said that the company Coca-Cola has agreed to use "real cane sugar" instead of corn syrup to produce the beverage in the United States. About writes The New York Times.

"I would like to thank all those who have power in Coca-Cola. This will be a very good move on their part – you'll see. It's just better this way!" wrote Trump.

The Coca-Cola Company has neither confirmed nor denied this information.

"We appreciate President Trump's enthusiasm for our iconic Coca-Cola brand. More information about the new innovative offerings in our Coca-Cola product portfolio will be released shortly," said Michelle Agnew, spokeswoman for the company.

The US market already has a version of the drink with cane sugar, the so-called MexiCoke.

Initially, the drink was smuggled across the border from Mexico, but in 2005 the company officially began importing it to Texas and later to other states.

Coca-Cola also produces a kosher version of the drink every year for the Jewish holiday of Passover, with yellow caps. It uses cane sugar, as religious rules prohibit the consumption of corn during the holiday.
