The Antimonopoly Committee has granted permission to Perutnina Ptuj (Slovenia), a member of the Ukrainian agroholding MHP, to acquire control over the Spanish UVE, SA (Grupo Uvesa), the press service of the Antimonopoly Committee reported.

Perutnina Ptuj is one of the largest chicken producers in Slovenia and neighboring countries. Since 2019, the company has been part of the Ukrainian agroholding MHP of Yuriy Kosyuk.

The company specializes in chicken and turkey meat and has a full production cycle – from growing feed to packaging finished meat – and sells products in dozens of countries.

Grupo Uvesa is engaged in the production of poultry and pork. The company controls about 15% of the poultry market in Spain. About 25% of Grupo Uvesa's income comes from pig farming.

Previously, MHP reported that it had successfully completed the accession period under the Share Purchase Agreement (SPA) with the shareholders of Grupo Uvesa, which allowed the Ukrainian agricultural holding to acquire 91.77% of the authorized capital of the Spanish company.

MHP will acquire Grupo Uvesa shares at a fixed price of 225 euros and an additional contingent consideration of up to 21.43 euros per share.

The settlement will be made in cash at the time of closing the transaction and secured by a bank guarantee on demand.
