In 2025, Ukraine exported 2.05 billion eggs. This is 65.6% more than a year earlier. In monetary terms, the revenue amounted to $201.9 million, which is 2.8 times more than in 2024. About said Association of Poultry Breeders of Ukraine.

Last year, the main buyers of Ukrainian eggs were Spain (16.4%), the UK (11.9%), the Czech Republic (10.3%), Poland (10.0%), Croatia (8.7%), and Israel (7.8%).

Exports of egg products last year amounted to 8200 tons for a total of $47.8 million. Compared to 2024, exports grew by 2.6%, and in monetary terms by 40.3%.

The largest importers were Latvia (24%), Italy (23.8%), Poland (17.2%), and Denmark (12.6%).

Ukraine managed to strengthen its trade presence in the European market for eggs and egg products. In 2025, the share of EU countries reached 73.4% and 92.6%, respectively, of total exports of these goods.

"A significant reduction in egg production in the EU countries due to the difficult epizootic situation last year and the need for a long period of recovery has led to higher prices in the European market and contributed to increased demand for Ukrainian products," the industry association explained.

They noted that the Ukrainian egg production sector is gradually recovering after a significant reduction in livestock and loss of production capacity in eastern and southern Ukraine at the beginning of the war.

"Due to the significant decline in the population and its low purchasing power, exports play a crucial role in balancing the domestic market and ensuring the country's food security," the Poultry Association emphasized.

  • In the fall of 2025, Poland and other European countries faced with a shortage of chicken eggs due to the outbreak of avian influenza and Newcastle disease, which led to higher prices.
