The State Bureau of Investigations (SBI) suspects the former head of NEK Ukrenergo, Volodymyr Kudrytskyi, of fraud on an especially large scale. He was detained in Lviv region on Tuesday, October 28. According to a source LIGA.net Kudrytskyi is being transported to Kyiv for a court hearing by the law enforcement agency involved in the case. A court decision on his pre-trial detention is expected there.

Most likely, according to the source, the hearing will be on October 29. It is likely that the court will decide to keep Kudrytskyi in custody, without the possibility of release on bail.

According to the investigation, in 2018, Kudrytskyi, while working as Deputy Director for Investments at Ukrenergo, conspired with Lviv businessman Igor Grinkevich. Grinkevich's company won an auction to build fences for Ukrenergo substations, received an advance payment, but did not complete the work. The State Bureau of Investigations believes that the contractor never intended to do so. Grinkevich, against whom a case was opened for supplying low-quality clothing to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, has been in pre-trial detention since 2023.

This is not the first corruption suspicion leveled against Kudritsky by law enforcement agencies. However, he himself called the accusations "absurd." The top manager was in conflict with the Ministry of Energy, but had the support of Ukraine's international partners: his scandalous firing the resignation from the position of CEO of NEK in September 2024 became one of the prerequisites for the deployment corporate crisis transmission system operator.

LIGA.net She learned the details of the tenders that likely caused Kudrytsky's current detention, spoke with his former colleagues, and also tried to find an answer to the question of why the ex-official was detained at this particular time. He faces 12 years imprisonment with confiscation of property, stated DBR spokesperson Tetiana Sapian on the Unified Marathon broadcast.
