British BP makes the largest oil and gas discovery in 25 years

The British oil and gas company British Petroleum (BP) has announced the largest oil and gas discovery in 25 years. About it writes Reuters.
The discovery is located in Brazil's Santos Basin, a so-called "pre-salt" zone at great depths, which is considered one of the largest hydrocarbon reservoirs in the world.
This is BP's tenth discovery in 2025, following discoveries in Trinidad, Egypt, Brazil and other countries.
In 2024, the company produced 2.4 million barrels of oil equivalent per day, but expects a decline in 2025.
BP plans to create a major production center offshore Brazil. The company received the right to the site in December 2022 on "very favorable commercial terms".
BP owns 100% of the Bumerangue block, and the production sharing contract is administered by the state-owned Pré-Sal Petróleo SA.
The first analyzes showed an increased level of carbon dioxide in the field. BP will conduct additional laboratory tests to determine the block's potential.
- On July 21, it was reported that in Poland discovered the largest oil and gas field in the history of the country.
