Bukovyna to build the largest SPP in the western region

A solar power plant with a minimum capacity of 234 MW will be built in the Chernivtsi region, which is planned to be increased to 250 MW. About it reported ivan Semenyuk, acting mayor of Kitsman, said.

It will be the largest and most powerful solar power plant in the western region, Semeniuk said. The project will attract more than UAH 5 billion in investments to the community budget.

"This is one of the largest strategic projects in the community since its inception. It will allow us to create additional jobs, raise funds and help our Armed Forces. So far, we have completed all stages of preparation – from land issues to approvals with investors," said Ivan Semeniuk.

The solar power plant will be located on a 212-hectare area. It will be built by Chernivtsi Solar LLC, which is part of the group of companies Kernel.

It is planned to create 100 to 200 jobs during the construction phase.

At the first stage of the solar power plant construction, the community's budget revenues will amount to up to UAH 8.7 million per year. Later, the amount will increase to UAH 12 million per year. The lease agreement is for 25 years.

The solar power plant is scheduled to be installed in the spring of 2026.

"The design of solar power plants is currently being finalized, and in the spring of 2026, the investor will begin installation and implementation of the first stage of the solar power plant," Semeniuk said.
