Russian shelling has damaged gas infrastructure in the Dnipro and Sumy regions, the Ukrainian energy ministry said in a statement.

The damage led to some customers being disconnected from the gas supply, and repair work is already underway, the ministry added.

In general, due to favourable weather conditions, gas consumption in Ukraine is more than 13 million cubic metres per day less than last year during this period.

This allows accumulating natural gas reserves in storage facilities, with more than 16 billion cubic metres of natural gas currently stored.

Power generation facilities in Ukraine are operating normally, according to the energy ministry.

The coal and fuel oil stocks in the warehouses are sufficient for the uninterrupted operation of the plants, and the amount of electricity generated is sufficient to fully meet the needs of consumers and industry.

On Monday, from 12:00 am to 3:00 pm, Ukraine reactivated the emergency electricity supply to Poland, with 900 MWh of surplus electricity transferred.

In addition, two power units of the generating capacities were taken out for short-term repairs within one day.
