The National Joint-Stock Company "Naftogaz of Ukraine" is attracting a €36.4 million loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to upgrade Ukrgazvydobuvannya's drilling equipment. This was announced by the company's Chairman of the Board, Serhiy Koretsky.

The money received will be used to purchase new mobile drilling rigs used for overhauling wells.

"Updating the fleet will allow us to work with deeper and more complex wells and more quickly restore gas production in existing fields. And therefore provide the country with a critically important resource." , – said Koretsky.

The Naftogaz press service noted that currently most of the well overhaul machines in the Ukrgazvydobuvannya fleet are light, with a lifting capacity of up to 80 tons.

At the same time, a significant part of the wells require 180-ton class equipment, which the company does not own. Within the framework of the loan, the company will be able to purchase drilling rigs with a lifting capacity of 125 and 180 tons.
