Preparations of Kryvyi Rih for winter have been taken under ministerial control

The Ministry of Community and Territorial Development is taking weekly control of Kryvyi Rih's preparations for the next heating season, the press service of the ministry reported.
Preparations for the next winter in Kryvyi Rih started on March 26. In particular, modernization of heating networks and generation distribution began. Naftogaz of Ukraine NJSC allocated a UAH 3 billion loan to the Kryvyi Rih Heating Plant for these works.
During a visit to Kryvyi Rih, government officials inspected heating facilities. The inspection revealed a shortage of repair crews at the sites, as well as problems with concluding contracts, organizing work, and coordination at the local level.
"We have recorded a lag behind the planned schedules – contracts with contractors were concluded late, and the schedule for replacing networks in three districts has not been submitted for approval to the city council," said Deputy Minister Kostyantyn Kovalchuk.
In this regard, an instruction was given to urgently submit to the Ministry of Development a weekly work schedule for each facility. From now on, these schedules will be subject to weekly control.
The overall readiness of JSC "Kryvorizhka Teplozentral" for operation in the heating period of 2025-2026 is currently 24%, and the facilities of the Kryvorizhteplomerezh are 30%.
- Last heating season, more than 600 residential buildings in Kryvyi Rih were left without heat supply. In November, the Ministry of Development was instructed to prepare an emergency plan to restore heat supply in the city. Deputy Minister Vasyl Shkurakov called the situation in Kryvyi Rih critical.
- Criminal proceedings have been opened in Kryvyi Rih due to the disruption of the heating season.
