The operators of the gas transmission systems of Poland and Ukraine have agreed to temporarily increase the level of guaranteed throughput capacity in the direction of Ukraine from 6.4 to 12.4 million cubic meters per day. This was reported by Ministry of Energy.

Part of the additional capacity will be offered during the monthly auction for July 2025, which will take place on June 16.

"This is an important decision, as the Polish route is one of the most important gas import destinations for Ukraine. The role of this route will only grow, as Poland's gas transportation system provides access to diversified sources of natural gas, including liquefied gas from around the world," emphasized Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Galushchenko.

To ensure stable power on a more permanent basis, Gaz-System is reconstructing the Hermanovychi HPP.

Ukraine exited the heating season with historically low gas reserves .

According to Serhiy Makohon, the former head of the GTSU, traders are booking significant volumes for June on all major routes: from the west through Hungary and Slovakia, and from the north through Poland.
