Russian gas exports to Europe via the TurkStream pipeline increased by 10.3% in January compared with the same period last year, according to Reuters calculations based on data from the European gas transmission network group Entsog.

In the first month of the year, 1.73 billion cubic meters of gas (55.8 million cubic meters per day) were transported through TurkStream, compared with 1.57 billion cubic meters (50.6 million cubic meters per day) in the same period a year earlier.

Following the expiration of the agreement on the transit of Russian gas through Ukraine, TurkStream remains the only pipeline route for Russian gas supplies to Europe. In 2025, Gazprom's gas exports to Europe fell by 44% to 18 billion cubic meters — the lowest level since the mid-1970s.

  • Russia has announced loss of trillions of dollars due to the underestimation of the cost of its oil and oil products.
  • According to Reuters estimates, Russian oil and gas revenues for January could fall by 46% due to lower oil prices and a stronger ruble.
