Reuters: Drone attack shuts down Rosneft refinery, another loses half of its capacity

Two major Rosneft refineries were partially or completely shut down due to an attack by Ukrainian drones. About reported Reuters, citing industry sources.
Since August 2, the company has been fully novokuibyshevsky refinery ceased operations in the Samara region of Russia. This was the first attack on a major Russian plant since March 2025.
On the same day, the drone attack shut down about half of the Ryazan refinery's capacity. According to the agency's sources, two main primary oil refining units were damaged – AVT-3 (8,600 tons per day) and AVT-4 (11,400 tons per day).
Currently, the company operates only the AVT-6 unit with a capacity of 23,200 tons. This is approximately 48% of the total capacity.
Last year, the Ryazan refinery processed 13.1 million tons of crude oil and produced 2.3 million tons of gasoline, 3.4 million tons of diesel, 4.2 million tons of fuel oil and 1 million tons of jet fuel.
- On the night of August 2, a number of Russian regions and the temporarily occupied Crimea were attacked by unknown drones. Explosions and burning in the Ryazan, Samara, Penza and Rostov regions of the aggressor state.
