Swiss energy equipment manufacturer wants to build a plant in Ukraine

Swiss energy equipment manufacturer PFIFFNER-Group is considering the possibility of building a plant in Ukraine, the Ministry of Economy reported.

The prospects for cooperation were discussed at the minister's online meeting. Yulia Svyrydenko with the CEO of PFIFFNER-Group, Marcel Rufenaht.

In addition, the Swiss industrial group handed over a certificate to the Ukrainian government worth over $125,000 for the purchase of equipment for the needs of the energy system.

"We are grateful to PFIFFNER-Group for their contribution to the restoration of the energy system – this is a certificate for 100,000 francs and potential investments in the construction of a plant in Ukraine. Such support strengthens our energy resilience in the face of constant attacks," said Svyrydenko.

PFIFFNER Group – a Swiss family-owned industrial group with a history spanning over a century. The company specializes in the production of power equipment for high-voltage transmission lines. It is known for its brands PFIFFNER, MOSER GLASER, HAEFELY, and ALPHA-ET.

The group employs approximately 1,000 people at eight production sites in Switzerland, Germany, Turkey and Brazil.

Svyrydenko thanked the company's management for the humanitarian and technical assistance previously provided to Ukraine's energy sector. In the spring of 2023, PFIFFNER-Group donated six current transformers to Ukraine, worth over 300,000 Swiss francs (over $370,000).

During the conversation, Marcel Rufenaht also confirmed that the PFIFFNER-Group had terminated all relations with the Russian Federation and expressed his willingness to continue supporting Ukraine in the face of armed aggression from Russia.
