Ukraine launches full-cycle domestic wind turbine production

Ukraine has completed the creation of a full domestic wind turbine production cycle after manufacturing its first locally produced turbine blade, Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Viktor Mykyta said Thursday.
The blade was produced by Friendly Windtechnology LLC, whose main owner is former lawmaker Maksym Yefimov.
"The company’s product — 75 meters long and weighing 25 tonnes — has come off the assembly line and is ready for installation. This proves that Ukraine has completed the creation of a full-fledged domestic wind turbine production cycle and can independently meet its needs in this segment," Mykyta wrote on Facebook.
According to him, Ukraine now joins the ranks of wind turbine manufacturing countries such as the United States, China, Germany, Denmark, Spain, India, Brazil, and South Korea.
- On January 20, it was reported that a 124 MW wind farm worth €220 million is being built in the Odesa region.
- Ukraine is also preparing to launch what is expected to become the largest wind farm in Eastern Europe. This will take place after DTEK completes the Tyligul wind farm expansion, increasing its capacity to 498 MW.
