The National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission (NEURC) at its meeting on Friday, December 5, approved Ukrenergo’s tariffs for electricity transmission and dispatch services in 2026.

Ukrenergo had requested a 20% increase in the transmission tariff, but government intervention reduced the size of the adjustment.

"The government has adopted a resolution enabling Ukrenergo to purchase electricity to cover transmission losses under a simplified procedure and at a discount. This helps reduce the pressure on the tariff," said Commission Chairman Yuriy Vlasenko.

As a result, the transmission tariff will rise in two stages.

From January 1, it will increase by 4% to UAH 713.68/MWh (UAH 373.93/MWh for green metallurgy enterprises). From April 1, it will rise by another 4% to UAH 742.91/MWh (UAH 378.49/MWh for green metallurgy enterprises).

The dispatch tariff was set at UAH 110.03/MWh, up from the current UAH 98.97/MWh.

NEURC also approved a phased increase in electricity distribution tariffs: from January 1, tariffs for the first voltage class will rise by an average of 12%, and for the second by 2%. The next stage, starting April 1, provides for an additional average increase of 0.7% for the first class and 0.2% for the second.

  • Since September 1, NEURC has raised tariffs for regional distribution system operators by an average of 13.5%.
  • The household electricity tariff remains fixed and has not changed since June 2024.
