Ukrnafta is starting work on constructing two oil wells that will collectively produce over 100 tons of oil per day, according to Ukrnafta's press service.

Both wells are being built turnkey by a contractor selected through Prozorro – Energofinance LLC.

The wells will tap into productive layers of Visean deposits.

The first well is planned as exploratory, with a projected depth of 4,490 meters and an estimated yield of 56.6 tons per day, said Ukrnafta CEO Serhiy Koretsky.

The second – a vertical production well – has a projected depth of 4,490 meters and an estimated initial yield of 47 tons per day.

Drilling will begin in August, with drilling equipment currently being transported and sites being prepared.

Previously, Ukrnafta stated it was seeking ways to increase oil production. To this end, the company plans to resume production at 30 abandoned wells in 2024.
