"We are not behind schedule". Kuleba talks about Ukraine's preparations for winter

Ukraine is preparing for the 2025-2026 heating season and has already reached more than 70% of the required readiness. About reported vice Prime Minister for Recovery – Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksiy Kuleba during the Council meeting.
"70% readiness for the heating season is the national average and is in line with the plan. We are not behind the schedule, there are still 2.5 months that we can use for preparation," Kuleba said.
Kryvyi Rih, which faced a critical heating situation last year, is about 50% ready for the autumn and winter period.
According to Kuleba, the government and Naftogaz, which owns the Kryvyi Rih thermal power plant, are doing everything possible to provide the city with heat.
He also added that the city's 50% readiness is due to the fact that a large amount of work needs to be done to replace heating networks on the balance sheet of the Kryvyi Rih CHP. The situation is being monitored by the headquarters that deals specifically with Kryvyi Rih.
Last year, more than 900 residential buildings, 11 healthcare facilities, 43 educational institutions and the territorial social protection center in Kryvyi Rih were left without heating.
- As of June 25 average readiness of boiler houses in Ukraine amounted to 30%, and heating networks – 33%.
- In early July, Ukraine and Poland agreed to extend the temporary increase in guaranteed throughput capacity by import of natural gas from Poland to Ukraine until September 2026.
