Russia hits Odesa port with ballistic missile, killing four Syrian citizens

Late on Tuesday, Russian forces launched a ballistic missile at a port in Odesa, according to Oleksii Kuleba, Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration of Ukraine – Minister for Communities and Territories Development.
The strike damaged the Barbados-flagged civilian vessel MJ PINA, which was loading wheat for export to Algeria at the time.
Four Syrian nationals, aged 18 to 24, were killed onboard. Two others — another Syrian and a Ukrainian — were injured.
The attack also damaged a second vessel, port berths, and grain storage warehouses.
“Russia is targeting Ukrainian infrastructure, including ports vital to global food security,” Kuleba wrote, condemning the strike.
From Tuesday evening into Wednesday, March 12, Russia hit Ukraine with three Iskander-M ballistic missiles and 133 drones of various types. Damage was reported across multiple regions.
