Automaker Stellantis is joining forces with Estonian ride-hailing platform Bolt to deploy self-driving vehicles across Europe, reported at Stellantis on Tuesday, December 9.

The collaboration involves integrating Stellantis' AV-Ready Platforms, including the eK0 mid-size van and STLA small platforms, with Bolt's extensive service network.

Bolt currently operates in more than 50 countries, including 23 EU member states, and plans to use Stellantis autonomous vehicles in its ride-sharing system to eventually provide fully autonomous, driverless rides.

"Stellantis' AV-Ready platforms are designed for flexibility and scalability, integrating advanced sensor suites, high-performance computing, and system redundancy to meet the highest safety and reliability standards while optimizing the total cost of ownership for service operators, making them among the most competitive solutions in the industry," the statement said.

The companies plan to begin deploying test vehicles in European countries starting in 2026, with a particular focus on creating a service with the highest standards of safety and efficiency.

The project will be developed in stages: from prototypes and pilot fleets to gradual scaling and entry into industrial production. The first commercial launch targets are set for 2029.

"For Bolt, this partnership marks the next step toward achieving its goal of having 100,000 autonomous vehicles available on its ride-sharing platform by 2035," Stellantis wrote.
