Indonesia has invited the United States to join a joint investment project for the extraction of critical minerals as part of tariff negotiations. About this writes Reuters.

The state sovereign wealth fund Danantara Indonesia is to be involved in the project.

In addition, Indonesia has announced to ease restrictions on imports of raw materials and goods to make the country more attractive for business.

According to the new policy, the country will cancel import licenses for certain goods and exclude a number of industrial raw materials, including plastics and chemicals, from the list of restricted imports.

Trade Minister Budi Santoso noted that the changes will also affect fertilizers, timber and plastics.

In total, the innovations will cover ten product groups and will come into force in two months.

Indonesia has large reserves of critical minerals needed for modern electronics, batteries and green energy.
