A solar power plant with a battery will be built in Zakarpattia: Oschadbank provides the funding
LLC "Helios Luchky", which is part of the Helios Strategia group, has signed an investment loan agreement with Oschadbank for the amount of 10.8 million euros for the construction of a new photovoltaic power plant in Transcarpathia. This was reported by the Oschadbank press service.
The loan will be used to build a 22.35 MW solar power plant with a 16 MW inverter, as well as an energy storage unit (ESU) with a capacity of 33.44 MWh in the Mukachevo district.
The construction is planned to be completed and the facility put into operation in January 2026.
The financing provided by Oschadbank is for a period of seven years.
"These are the same 'long-term' funds for new construction that the economy needs. I am glad that more and more of these investment projects are being implemented," said Yuriy Kation, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Oschadbank.
Helios Strategia emphasized that the implementation of the project confirms the technical capabilities of Ukrainian companies to implement complex infrastructure solutions.
"This project is not only a step towards a new decentralized energy system, but also a demonstration of the technological readiness of Ukrainian companies to implement complex infrastructure solutions," commented Olena Skrypnyk, founder of Helios Strategia.
In the first half of 2025, the state-owned Oschadbank concluded loan agreements with large corporate businesses for energy projects worth 87 million euros. This is almost twice as much as for the entire 2024 year.
While in 2024, 70% of the projects financed by the bank were gas-powered generation, in 2025, 50% of the projects will be energy storage facilities, and 40% will be wind power generation.
At the end of May 2025, DTEK borrowed 3 billion hryvnias (67 million euros) to build electricity storage systems . The project will be financed by a consortium of Ukrainian banks (Oschadbank, PUMB, Ukrgazbank).
