All critical infrastructure in Kyiv is powered, 44,000 homes remain without electricity
fixedPower engineers restored electricity to all critical infrastructure facilities in Kyiv after the Russian combined attack on January 20. This was announced on Wednesday afternoon, January 21, by DTEK Company.
According to the company, the situation with the city's electricity supply remains difficult. Emergency outages continue. Schedules and groupings are not in effect.
"Due to the enemy's destruction of the capital's power generation facilities, the situation remains most difficult in parts of the Dniprovskyi and Desnianskyi districts," the statement said.
As of 3 p.m. on January 21, about 44,000 homes remain without electricity.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, following a conference call on energy issues on Wednesday, said that 4,000 homes in Kyiv are left without heating due to sub-zero temperatures (about a third of the total), and almost 60% of consumers are without electricity.
The situation is similarly difficult in Kharkiv and the region, Chernihiv and the region, and Sumy and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
- Mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko, said that hundreds of thousands of people have allegedly left the capital after massive Russian strikes on the city's critical infrastructure. There have been four attacks in recent weeks: one in late December and three in January.
