Canadian company will gain control over solar power plants in Ivano-Frankivsk
On December 17, the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU) granted permission to LLC "TIU 1", part of the Canadian group TIU Canada, to acquire control over four solar power plants in Ivano-Frankivsk.
In particular, the company will acquire more than 50% of the shares in the authorized capital of the following enterprises:
- LLC "Ivano-Frankivsk Solar Power Plant 1",
- LLC "Ivano-Frankivsk Solar Power Plant 2",
- LLC "Ivano-Frankivsk Solar Power Plant 3",
- LLC "Ivano-Frankivsk Solar Power Plant 4".
The power plants are owned by SPP Development Ukraine. As noted on the company's website, to date the company has developed solar power plant projects with a capacity of over 114 MW in over 20 cities across Ukraine.
TIU Canada is one of the leaders of alternative energy in Ukraine. Since 2016, the company has invested more than $65 million in the development of solar energy through its Refraction Fund 1. TIU Canada currently operates three solar power plants with a total capacity of 44 MW. The company's revenue for 2023 increased by 38% compared to the previous year and reached UAH 267 million, Forbes writes.
