Ukraine will restrict imports of diesel fuel from India from October 1 - enkorr
fixedImports of diesel fuel from India to Ukraine will be limited. All batches of Indian diesel will have to undergo sampling and laboratory analysis. This was reported to by industry publication enkorr.
According to the publication, the Security Service of Ukraine sent the relevant request to the Energy Customs on September 15. The restrictions will come into force on October 1.
The sanctions will be similar to those previously imposed on diesel fuel from Turkey in September 2023. At that time, the National Security and Defense Council included a number of Turkish ports that received significant volumes of Russian diesel fuel in the list of risky ports, and all shipments coming from them were subject to additional examination, including laboratory testing.
According to the A-95 Consulting Group, since September 2023, 65,800 tons of diesel fuel have been imported to Ukraine from the sanctioned Turkish ports of Marmara and Turpas, of which 71% have been imported since April 2025. Prior to that, the average monthly import from these ports was about 47,200 tons. This shows that after similar measures, imports from Turkey almost stopped.

"Large volumes from India were purchased not because there was no other product on the market, but because Indian fuel was cheaper. The market will adjust to other destinations and prices. For example, in August, we have already brought diesel from the SARAS plant," said the operator of Oil Terminal.
Last week, it was reported that state-owned Ukrnafta for the first time added India to the list of countries from which it will not buy fuel from starting in October. The company will require information on the origin of fuel in its tender applications. Previously, this applied to Russia, Belarus, and Iran.
