Canada has opened its market for the sale of milk and dairy products to Ukrainian producers, reported the press service of the State Food and Consumer Service.

Now the markets of 31 countries are open for Ukrainian producers of milk and dairy products.

The first step for exporting dairy products to Canada is the request of the market operator to the territorial body of the State Food and Consumer Service at the location of the production facility.

Also, potential exporters need to familiarize themselves with the export certificate form agreed upon by the relevant authorities of both countries.

An explanation of the requirements of Canadian legislation that apply to producers of dairy products is indicated in the zoosanitary certificate and published on the official portal of the State Food and Consumer Service.

Ukrainian producers should take into account that strict milk quality control procedures are in place in Canada to ensure that consumers receive the highest quality dairy products.

The volume of the Canadian dairy market during the last five years has been steadily growing by an average of 2.9% per year. In 2023, the growth of the market is expected at the level of 5%.

The retail price of a liter of milk in Canada is about 1.6 Canadian dollars ($1.21).

In 2022, Ukraine opened 12 new markets for agricultural exports.

On February 28, 2023, Turkey opened its market for Ukrainian fish products.

In May, Ukrainian producers increased the volume of exports of dairy products by 29.7% to 9,760 tons.
