Ukraine will get through the winter for the first time thanks to the gas of its own production, the head of the Naftogaz Group, Oleksiy Chernyshov, announced on national television, reports the press service of the state oil and gas company Naftogaz.

"We plan to get through this winter thanks to gas produced in Ukraine, and our calculations confirm this possibility," Chernyshov said.

In 2023, Naftogaz launched a record number of new wells, which ensures a stable increase in production.

Ukraine's heating season will pass without upheavals not only in terms of gas supply, but also thanks to the unchanged cost of blue fuel for the population, Chernyshov added.

"We have enough gas, the tariffs are stable. I ask all consumers to ensure energy-efficient measures and take a responsible approach to this type of energy," urged the head of Naftogaz.

On September 8, 2023, Ukrgazvydobuvannya set a three-year record for daily gas extraction.

On September 13, Ukraine repaired and launched the main gas pipeline to Moldova.

On September 21, Naftogaz announced that Ukraine will enter the winter with 16 billion cubic meters of gas, but 20% of this volume is from non-residents.
