The National University of Kyiv -Mohyla Academy (NaUKMA) is one of the oldest and largest higher education institutions in Ukraine. For almost a decade, with a break, it has been headed by former journalist and editor Serhiy Kvit.

The president of NaUKMA is 60 years old, from Uzhhorod, and graduated from the Faculty of Journalism at the Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University. He worked as an editor and teacher, and created the Mohyla School of Journalism at NaUKMA. As president of the academy during the time of Viktor Yanukovych, he clashed with the Ministry of Education. After the Revolution of Dignity, he headed the ministry for two years .

A correspondent for LIGA.net talked to Kvit about the budget and sources of income of the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, private educational institutions, and those who give money to Mohyla.
