Court lifts seizure of property of ferroalloy plants and Pokrovsky GOK in Kolomoisky case

The Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) partially granted the motion of the lawyers in the case of Ihor Kolomoisky. About said is an anti-corruption organization Transparency International Ukraine.

The court canceled the seizure of property of Zaporizhzhia Ferroalloy Plant, Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant and Pokrovske Mining.

At the same time, shares of corporate rights of enterprises remain under arrest:

  • 10.29% of Zaporizhzhya Ferroalloy Plant (24.45 million shares);
  • 24.75% of Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant (384.6 million shares);
  • 24.28% of Pokrovsky GOK (178.7 million shares).

Kolomoisky and five former top managers PrivatBank is suspected of embezzling UAH 9.2 billion of bank money in 2015.

According to the investigation, the money was withdrawn through the offshore company Drovale Limited, and Kolomoisky used part of the money to increase his share in the capital of Privatbank.

Kolomoisky is charged with misappropriation of property, forgery in office, and legalization of property obtained by criminal means.

He is also suspected of organizing a criminal group that seized more than UAH 5.8 billion of the bank's money, as well as of organizing a contract killing. He is currently in a pre-trial detention center.
