The construction of the first anti-drone tunnel in Zaporizhzhia region has been completed at Orikhiv direction. About it reported ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhya regional military administration, during a briefing.

"We have already built the first anti-drone road on the Orikhivska highway, 6.5 kilometers long. We have an ambitious plan to build more than 200 kilometers of such a safe road," said Fedorov.

The purpose of this project is to protect the most dangerous logistics routes from attacks by Russian drones, including FPV drones.

The construction was carried out in cooperation with the Zaporizhzhia military brigade, given its combat experience.

The anti-drone tunnel will allow civilians to move more safely along frequently shelled road sections, and the military to evacuate the wounded and deliver ammunition and personnel to positions with less risk.

The project was financed by the regional defense fund, which was used to purchase all the necessary materials and equipment, from consumables to metal structures and nets.

Fedorov also said that the region's defense fund had been increased to UAH 3 billion and the production of components for anti-personnel mines had been launched.
