Orban wants to convince Trump to release Hungary from sanctions against Russian oil

Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban said he plans to convince the US President Donald Trump exempt Hungary from sanctions against Russian oil due to the country's high dependence on pipeline infrastructure. About writes Reuters.
Orban said that he would discuss sanctions against Russian companies Rosneft and Lukoil during his meeting with Trump on November 7. He hopes to agree on a broad economic agreement with the United States.
"Hungary is a landlocked country. We are dependent on the transportation routes that can bring energy to us. These are mainly pipelines."the Hungarian prime minister noted.
He added that the United States should understand this special situation and make an exception for Hungary from sanctions against Russia.
Orban cited the example of Germany, which has already secured an exception for one of its oil refineries. In particular, the German oil refinery Schwedt, a controlling stake in which belongs to a subsidiary of Rosneft, was not subject to sanctions because it is no longer under Russian control.
The Hungarian government also unveiled a draft law to change the rules for the accumulation of imported oil and oil products so that in the event of an emergency, critical consumers can be provided with fuel through reserve gas stations.
