Poland's Unimot invests in a new drone manufacturing company with Ukrainian participation

Polish energy company Unimot is investing 400,000 zlotys (over $110,000) in a newly created company, PZL Defense, which will specialize in the development and production of drones and anti-drone systems. This is reported on the company's website.
The partners in the project are the Polish defense components manufacturer PZL Sędziszów and an unnamed Ukrainian company. The letter of intent for strategic cooperation was signed on July 24 .
"We see the growing importance of unmanned technologies for regional security. That is why we are joining the project that combines Polish engineering and unique Ukrainian experience gained in real combat conditions," said Adam Sikorski, Chairman of the Board of Unimot.
Upon completion of the registration, PZL Defence Unimot will receive 40% of the shares, PZL Sędziszów - 10%, and the Ukrainian partner - 50%.
The project plans to produce civilian drones, and later military UAVs and anti-drone systems to protect critical infrastructure.
In addition, PZL Defense will create an R&D center for the development of reconnaissance drones, interceptor drones, kamikaze drones and anti-drone systems.
- In early July 2025, the Ukrainian company Skyeton and the British Prevail Partners announced the establishment of a joint venture. The project envisages the mass production of Raybird drones in the United Kingdom.
