Politico: EU plans sanctions against China for supplying Russia with drone engines

The European Union is preparing to impose sanctions on China and India because of their role in supporting the Russian economy during Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine. About writes Politico.
According to sources in Brussels, the EU is planning restrictive measures against China after August.
The reason was the information about the supply of Chinese engines for drones to Russia, which were disguised as "industrial refrigeration units" to circumvent sanctions.
the 15 member countries of the bloc demanded explanations from China, but the country either denied its involvement or refused to comment on the situation.
"It's fair to say that without Chinese support, the war would look very different now," the source said.
Politico emphasized that the EU and the US seem to be moving in the same direction on sanctions against China and India.
Donald Trump has already stated that will increase duties for India, accusing it of reselling Russian oil on the world market at a large profit.
The U.S. Congress is also considering a bill that would allow the introduction of secondary duties up to 500% against countries that continue to buy Russian energy.
Meanwhile, negotiations are also underway in Brussels and Washington to reduce tariffs in bilateral trade. The EU has agreed to postpone additional tariffs on 93 billion euros worth of American goods, including airplanes and bourbon.
- on July 31, Acting Permanent Representative of the United States to the United Nations John Kelly stated that China transfers drone technology to Russia and cruise missiles.
