Sky News: Ukraine's allies discuss easing sanctions against Russia in case of ceasefire

Ukraine's allies are considering a gradual easing of sanctions against Russia if a complete ceasefire is reached. About writes Sky News, citing informed sources.

According to the channel's sources, the plan provides for the reintroduction of sanctions in the event of any violations of the ceasefire by Russia.

First, Ukraine's partners hope to achieve a 15-day ceasefire (during which time sanctions will remain in place), after which a more structured pause in the fighting may begin.

Separately, Italian government sources told Sky News that Rome plans to call on Donald Trump to engage Europe in discussions on Vladimir Putin of the war in Ukraine during a video call.

"He is calling on European countries to invest more in military spending, so we have to be involved in these decisions," the Italian diplomat explained.

According to the channel's sources, during the conversation, Italy will also emphasize the need for clear military, economic and political guarantees for Ukraine.
