The number of passenger car resales in Ukraine fell by more than a quarter: popular models

In July 2025, Ukrainians completed 75,000 transactions for the sale and purchase of used passenger cars in the domestic market. About reports Institute for Automotive Market Research.
Last month, Ukrainians bought 4.4% more cars than in June, but 28.3% less than a year ago.
Volkswagen was the most popular passenger car brand in July by a wide margin, outselling its closest competitor almost twice (9,334 vehicles). This demonstrates the strong trust in the brand, which is valued for its reliability, simplicity and serviceability.
Renault (4,284 vehicles), BMW (4,280 vehicles), VAZ (4,179 vehicles), Skoda (4,027 vehicles), Toyota (3,747 vehicles), Audi (3,682 vehicles), Ford (3,491 vehicles), Mercedes-Benz (3,438 vehicles), and Hyundai (3,288 vehicles) were in the top ten.

Among used models, the Volkswagen Passat was again the most popular in July (2,698 units). Skoda Octavia is in second place (2,315 vehicles), which holds strong positions due to its affordability, spaciousness and versatility. Volkswagen Golf, which is especially popular in urban areas, is in third place (2,122 vehicles).
The top ten also includes Renault Megane (1,292 cars), Daewoo Lanos (1,292 cars), BMW 3-series (1,184 cars) and 5-series (1,152 cars), Ford Focus (1,041 cars), Audi A6 (944 cars), and Opel Astra (930 cars).

The average age of a car on the secondary market remains stable at 15.7 years.
In addition, the resold premium cars included one Maybach, one Lamborghini, one Ferrari, two Aston Martins, three Rolls-Royces, nine Maseratis, and ten Bentley.
The oldest resold cars in July were the Opel Admiral and Steyr 50 (both made in 1939).
